5-days workshop collaborating with iHub, DivyaSampark, IIT, Roorkee on Internet of Things (IoT) and embedded systems
Mukand Lal National College hosted a 5-days workshop collaborating with iHub, DivyaSampark, IIT, Roorkee on Internet of Things (IoT) and embedded systems from November 25th - 29th, 2024. The workshop, an initiative of the Self-Finance Department, was designed for first and second-year students of BSc IT(H), Bsc CS(H), and BCA. The experience culminated in over 21 projects created by the students during the workshop, offering them hands-on experience in IoT and embedded systems.
The workshop was conducted by iHUB DivyaSampark, IIT Roorkee. Engineer Prashant Singh conducted this workshop. Prashant Singh holds experience of 7+ years in the field and has extended his expertise in training tech wizards. The workshop witnessed the participation of 305 students.
The workshop’s highlight was the comprehensive coverage of IoT. Some practical learning included fundamentals of IoT technology, embedded systems, and microcontrollers, and hands-on experience with programming languages like C and Assembly. Students were also provided with comprehensive knowledge on the working of sensors including Force Sensor, Soil Moisture Sensor, Robotic Arm Implementation using Flex Sensor, functionality of Buzzer using ultrasonic sensors, and street light control using LDR sensors. Students also learned about Serial Communication and its applications, while exploring memory mapping. The practical knowledge of these technologies will help students advance in their careers and thrive in an ever-evolving tech world.
The students got this wonderful opportunity to build and develop their skills under the leadership of the principal, Dr. Anil Dhawan. The workshop was a success under the guidance and direction of Dr. Neeti Daryal, the Head of Department, Self-Finance. Dr. Rajiv Sharma was the co-convener of the workshop. The college plans to organize more of such workshops in the future to engage students with hands-on experience in emerging technologies.
