About Library
The library was established in June, 1955, the day this College was founded in the sacred memory of Seth Mukand Lal Ji.
A huge Library with open-shelf system, spread over 7500 sq. ft. is the pride not only of this institution but of the whole region. The library has a rich collection of books and other material.
The library is divided into 10 sections with separate halls: Book Bank, Reception Hall, Languages and Literature Hall, Social Sciences Hall, Sciences Hall, P.G. Hall, Reference Hall, Periodical cum CD Section, Technical Section, Librarian Room.
Our library caters to an average of about 1400 visitors for general references and consultation every day and about 530 books are issued per day
The library also runs a common room with 19 newspapers and about 46 magazines/journals on different topics.
Library is fully computerized with 10 computer systems. The whereabouts of every book and every member can be found on the click of mouse or after scanning the barcode stickers assigned to every book and user.
Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) terminals are available in the library throughout the day to check the availability of books/journals in the library. Also the students and faculty can access the Internet facilities and other online subscriptions provided in the library at any time between 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
E-resources through N-List of INFLIBNET have been subscribed for the Staff Members & Students of the college. We are also member of DELNET and through DELNET Our Library Collection is Online.
The Library provides facility of open shelf for books, journals and periodicals. Bar-coded books are displayed/placed in shelves, which are easily accessible to the users for their use within in the library. In case a user wants to get a book issued, an online system is available with trained personnel to attend the users. Also supporting staff is available to help users for locating the desired book(s) and to ensure that no book is taken out by the users in an unauthorized manner. All the staff members are always there to help the users for any kind of help required.
