A lecture on the topic “My first vote in the name of the country” was organized by the Electoral Literacy Club of the local Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar on March 14, 2024. The speaker of this lecture was Dr. Manohar Goyal, Associate Professor Commerce Department. In his lecture, he told about the importance of voting and made the students aware that India is the youngest country in the world and to make it a developed and prosperous country, it is very important for the youth to get enrolled in the voter list and participate in voting. . He threw light on the fundamental rights and duties of citizens along with examples on democracy empowerment. About 150 students attended this lecture and benefited.
Dr. Savita Garg, Nodal Officer, while addressing the students in the end, said that if the youth use their voting properly then they can contribute to the development of the country.
Executive Principal of the college, Dr. Ritu Kumar, congratulated Dr. Savita Garg for successfully organizing the lecture. Assistant Prof. Dr. Deepmala and Umang Bareja were also present during this lecture.
