A three-day program was organized by the Self Finance Department

A three-day program was organized by the Self Finance Department of the local Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar on the occasion of International Women’s Day from 6, 7 and 9 March 2024, which was filled with various competitions, guest speeches and cultural programs.
The main objective of this festival was to inspire both students and faculty members to promote women empowerment. On the first day, senior final year students led classes for second year students, while second year students guided the first year students. Additionally, a series of outdoor games were set up by Think Tank, Commerce Quizzers and Trink and Tool Club for the entertainment of the students. Additionally, a blogging competition was organized by the Think Tank and Commerce Quizzed Clubs, encouraging students to express their views on the social contribution of women. The day also saw ‘Reel Making’ coordinated by Crazy Artesy and Tech Wiz Club, where students made short-films based on the theme ‘Do something for your favorite women’. In this episode, a live show was also organized in which students displayed their talents like dancing, singing, mimicry and stand-up comedy. Law and Taxation, Big Fiesta, Tech and Greek and Tech Express Club played an important role. The theme of students and teachers wearing green and white colored attire was also followed on this day.
On the second day, ‘Tag Your Teachers’ program was organized where students presented vibrant and heartfelt tags to their subject teachers as a token of appreciation and affection. Additionally, Imagica, Fit & Fine and Environment Club organized a ‘Role-Play’ activity where participants presented the female views of important female characters and great men. Apart from this, a street play focusing on women’s problems was also organized in the college grounds. The highlight of the day was a guest lecture organized by the Law & Taxation Club in which alumnus of the college, now a prominent social personality and rising face of politics, Richa Pahwa spoke on the importance of women empowerment. Both students and faculty members wore attire in the thematic colors of red and black.
After the classes ended on March 9, 2024, the students along with the staff members were taken to the nearest PVR theater for a movie screening.
This three-day Women’s Day celebration proved to be very successful. The organizer of this event was Dr. Neeti Daryal, Chairperson, Self Finance Department. College Executive Principal Dr. Ritu Kumar congratulated everyone on the successful organization of the program.
