Anti-ragging day was organized
Under the guidelines issued by UGC, anti-ragging day was organized today in the local Mukand Lal National College, Yamuna Nagar. Under this, Prof. Praveen Khurana, in-charge of anti-ragging cell, while addressing the students, said that ragging is not acceptable in any way and every possible effort is made in the college to prevent any such act and a whole team is working on this. The names and phone numbers of the teacher in-charges have been published at all the main places of the college and this information is also available on the college website. Dr. Sunita Sikri also said that the college follows a zero-tolerance policy in this regard. Dr Jitendra Singh told the students that they should also remain vigilant and should not delay in bringing any protest related to ragging to the college. The acting principal of the college Dr Anil Dhawan while addressing the students said that the college does not accept any kind of activity in this regard and immediate action is taken. The students also need to remain vigilant themselves.
Anti ragging video available on the website of UGC was also shown to the children. Apart from this, poster making and slogan writing competitions were organized on this occasion. In which the students participated enthusiastically. The results of the competitions were as follows- Mahi Kalra came first in poster making, Pinky Kumari came second, Madhav Kathuria came third and Kanan got the consolation prize. Shreya came first in slogan writing, Madhav Kathuria came second, Samarpit Singh came third and Gunjot Kaur got the consolation prize. The college also provided certificates to the winning students.
Dr Anil Dhawan congratulated the concerned incharges for the successful organisation of the programme and encouraged the students to keep participating in such activities.
