Awareness lecture about the ill-effects of tobacco

On the International Day of No Tobacco at the local Mukand Lal National College, Dr. Mahesh Kumar, Officer of the College Anti Tobacco Cell, delivered an awareness lecture about the ill-effects of tobacco use on the body. The students present on this occasion were told that consumption of tobacco, bidi, cigarette, gutkha etc. leads to various types of cancer, asthma, heart attack, gangrene, weakening of bones etc. According to a report by the World Health Organization, tobacco use was found to be the cause of cancer in 80-90 percent of cancer patients. There are about 4000 chemicals and elements found inside tobacco, mainly nicotine, polonium-210, benzene, lead, arsenic etc. are the main factors of cancer.

The acting principal of the college, Dr. Rahul Khanna, gave a message that if you want to live a healthy life, then the use of tobacco has to be eliminated from your life. In the end, everyone was also administered a pledge not to use tobacco and tobacco products. On this occasion Prof. Khushboo and Priyanka of Chemistry Department were also present.
