Golden Jubilee Blood Donation Mela

Mukand Lal National College Yamuna Nagar organized Golden Jubilee Blood Donation Mela to celebrate the birth anniversary of the founder of the college Seth Jai Prakash ji.The college has been organizing this mela since 1972 with great fervor and festivity. Various academic and co-curricular activities articulating the importance of blood donation were organized by the different societies and cells of the college to sensitize and motivate the students to contribute to the noble cause of blood donation. This year being the golden Jubilee year, a  souvenir showcasing the journey of 50 years of blood donation was released by the  chairman of the college managing committee Seth Ashok Kumar ji. His daughter Ms Bani Rajgarhia also graced the occasion with her presence and  encouraged the donors.5th sept also marks the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and celebrated as Teacher’s day.Organization of blood donation on this pious day lends a distinct grace to the occasion.

The college is a pioneer institute in the region in initiating this noble act of blood donation and has till now donated more than 16545 units of blood.This year 200 units of blood were donated. Dr Ramesh Kumar,General Secretary, college governing body blessed the donors and appreciated the efforts of the officiating principal Dr Rahul Khanna, the staff and students for the successful organization of the mela.NSS,NCC,Red Cross cell,Women’s Study cell,legal literacy cell and other committees contributed tremendously in making the event a success.
