International Literacy Day

An awareness program was organized by the Legal Literacy Cell of Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar under the chairmanship of Prof. Umang Bareja on the occasion of ’International Literacy Day’. Through this program the students were made aware about the importance of literacy. Around 200 students participated in it. Dr. Anil Dhawan, Head of Commerce Department was the keynote speaker of this program.
Literacy Day is celebrated every year by setting a new theme and goal. The theme for this year was ’Transforming Literacy Learning Space’. Dr. Anil Dhawan, while addressing the students, apprised the students about the theme of this year and said that education should not be confined to the classroom only, but it has to be taken from village to village, door to door and every nook and corner of the country. To increase the range. Today, whatever country is supreme in the field of development and technology, its basis is basically education. Education is also important from social point of view because only educated person can understand the responsibilities towards the society. The acting principal of the college, Dr. Rahul Khanna, congratulated Prof. Umang Bareja for the successful organization of the program and motivated him to organize such programs in future also.
