42nd Annual Sports Mela
42nd Annual Sports Mela was celebrated in Mukand Lal National College,Yamuna Nagar with great vigour and vivacity. The college celebrates this day with enthusiasm as it also marks the birth anniversary of the chairman of the college Seth Ashok Kumar ji. Distinguished Guests for the occasion Dr. Cyrus Shroff and Prof Dr Mrs. Rukhsana Shroff declared the opening of the mela by releasing balloons. Dr. Anil Dhawan, principal of the college, then presented a report on the achievements of the college. Dr. Shroff prayed that Kalpvriksh of Mukand institutions be nurtured with care and guided toward greater heights of success.
The mela was invigorated by a series of cultural performances by students of various Mukand Institutions. Despite heavy rains, the students participated enthusiastically in a number of competitions like yoga, weight- lifting and wrestling.
Priti bhoj was also organized in which more than 4000 persons enjoyed sumptuous food. The NSS unit of the college ensured smooth distribution of priti bhoj.
The Chairman of the college managing committee Seth Ashok kumar and his family members Ashwani ji,Bharat ji, Mrs. Bani ji, Mrs. Richa ji, Mrs. Bhawna Ji, Shibani ji, Mudit Ji, Richa ji, Mr. Viaan and Mr Riaan graced the occasion with their presence. Dr Ramesh kumar, General Secretary of college governing body, Dr. RK Garg, Dr. Ajay Sharma, Dr. Shailesh Kapoor, Mrs. Sucheta Sagar, Mrs. Seema, Mrs. Shashi Bhatla and Directors and Principals from neighbouring institutions Mrs Surinder Kaur, Mrs Karuna, Mrs Monika khurana, Dr. Anil Bhdhiraja and Dr. Vivek were also present at the occasion.
The mela was a great success and Dr Anil Dhawan expressed his gratitude to the teaching as well as non teaching staff, incharges of various clubs and societies and students of the college for the smooth conduct of the mela. He also congratulated the teacher incharges of sports department Ms Babita Sood, Dr. Sachin Kumar and Mr Vinod kumar for their valuable contribution in making the sports mela a grand success.
