51st Blood donation mela was organized in Mukand Lal National College

51st Blood donation mela was organized in Mukand Lal National College on 5th September 2023 with great fervour and felicity. This mela is being organized in the college since 1972 to celebrate the birth anniversary of the founder of the college Seth Jai Prakash ji. The college is a pioneer institute in the noble act of blood donation and feels pride to have pledged that nobody in the region will die for the want of blood.

The Officiating Principal of the College Dr Ritu Kumar informed that prominent citizens,various heads of  institutions,students,former students, members of teaching and non-teaching faculty and voluntary donors donated 224 units of blood this year to the teams of doctors from PGI,Chandigarh and the Local Red Cross Society.Beginning from 1972 the college has made more than 16000 donations till today.

The occasion was graced by the presence of Seth Ashok Kumar ji ,Chairman of the college governing body and Dr Ramesh Kumar ji ,General Secretary of Mukand institutions.They blessed the donors and appreciated the efforts of staff and students to make the mela successful.A number of activities associated with blood donation were organized in the college a week ago to encourage the students to participate in the noble act of blood donation.The college NSS team,NCC Unit, Red Cross Cell ,Women Study Cell and other clubs  and societies played an important role in making the blood donation mela a success.
