A five-day district level Red Cross camp

A five-day district level Red Cross camp was organized by District Red Cross Society Yamunanagar at Mukand Lal National College Yamunanagar. Students of 17 different colleges of the district along with their counselors participated in this camp. The camp was inaugurated by Randeep Singh, Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Yamuna Nagar Branch and Dr. Ritu Kumar, Acting Principal of the college, by lighting the lamp. This camp was completed under the guidance of State Branch General Secretary of Red Cross Society, Dr. Mukesh Aggarwal and senior professor of the college, Dr. Pawan Gaba. Dr. Mukesh Aggarwal highlighted the importance of the role of youth in present times. He urged everyone to donate blood regularly. Shri Randeep Singh urged the students to become life members of Red Cross and serve humanity. He addressed the volunteers as the backbone of the Red Cross Society.

 

During these five days, students participated in various activities including debate competition, extempore speech competition and dance competition. They learned first aid techniques, the history of the Red Cross, domestic violence issues, CPR, drug abuse, fire fighting, and traffic rules. He also got his hemoglobin (Hb) and eye tests done. Varinda, Kritika, Kamalpreet, Meenal, Ram and Shyam from Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar participated in the camp and secured positions in various activities. Red Cross Incharge of the college Dr. Rahul Singh won the best male counselor award and also conducted the stage proceedings during this camp. In the end, prizes and certificates were given to the students. Dr. Parveen Khurana, Dr. Nirmal and Mr. Rakesh Sharma were present on the occasion.
