A state level Red Cross training camp for girl students was organized in Haridwar
Under the aegis of the Indian Red Cross Society, a state level Red Cross training camp for girl students was organized in Haridwar from 5th to 10th February, 2025. 4 Red Cross volunteer girl students and one Red Cross counselor from the Red Cross Unit of Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar from Yamunanagar district participated in this camp and got the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge. This 6-day camp was organized under the guidance of Mr. Rohit Sharma, Director, Haryana Red Cross Society. 209 Red Cross volunteers and Red Cross counselors from 35 teams from different districts of Haryana state participated in this camp. In the camp, senior officials and experts of the Red Cross Society provided training to the participants on subjects like Red Cross principles, humanitarian law and disaster management. The participants also received training on topics like first aid, firefighting and disaster response. During the camp, the participants participated in cultural activities which included solo songs, group singing, drama and dance and quiz competitions etc. The participants also visited Rishikesh and Neelkanth, which gave them an opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of Uttarakhand. In this program, Red Cross Uttarakhand Chairman Dr. Naresh Chaudhary, Uttarakhand Brand Ambassador Dr. Anil Saini, Mr. Bijendra Sorat from Red Cross Branch Faridabad and Mrs. Renu Bhatia from Haryana State Women Commission also guided the participants.
On successful return from the camp, the Executive Principal of the college Dr. Anil Dhawan congratulated Red Cross Counselor Dr. Umang Bareja and Red Cross volunteers and encouraged them to participate in such activities in future as well.
