Botany Model won first prize in State Level Science Exhibition

Botany Model of MLN College, Yamuna Nagar won first prize in State Level Science Exhibition was organized by Pt. Chiranji Lal Sharma Government College Karnal sponsored by Directorate of Higher Education, Govt. of Haryana. Botany Model prepared by two students, Vanshika Jain and Rupal, under the guidance of Dr. Meenu Kalisi, Dr. Rameshwar Groach, Dr Babita, and Prof. Shelly Kamboj has won the first prize in the State Level Science Exhibition.

The model showcased the production of plants from aeroponic and hydroponic systems, the production of biodegradable plastic bags and biofuel from bioplastic, and the production of electricity from plant and bioplastic waste using microbial fuel cell technology. The model also highlighted the government’s aim to achieve a complete 20% blending of ethanol with petrol by 2025, with the use of E20, a blend of 20% ethanol with petrol.

The judges were impressed by the innovative ideas and practical applications presented in the model, which can help in the reduction of pollution, recycling, generating wealth from waste, increasing soil fertility, and increasing farmer income.

Dr. Neeti Daryal and Prof. Meenakshi Makloha arranged the logistics for the team to participate in the event.

Principal Dr. Ritu Kumar congratulated and praised the efforts of all the stake holders of Life Sciences Department. She said that this achievement is a significant milestone for the college. She added that the students have shown great endeavor for the future of the nation, and the college is proud of their achievement.
