Competitions and documentary screenings were organized on the occasion of India Space Week
Various competitions and documentary screenings were organized in the local Mukand Lal National College, Yamuna Nagar on the occasion of India Space Week. The objective of these competitions was to increase awareness among students about the missions of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and employment opportunities available in the field of space science and technology.
The students participated in essay writing, painting and speech competitions and displayed their creativity and knowledge on various topics related to space exploration and India’s space research achievements. This revealed their deep interest in space science and exploration. Enthusiastic participation of students from various faculties was seen in the competitions. Dr. Rahul Singh and Dr. Mamta Bhargava were the judges. In the essay writing competition, Palak got first place, Gurpreet Singh got second and Anu Kumari got third place. In the painting competition, Rajni Bala got first place, Rashi Panwar got second and Vidhi Bansal got third place. In the speech competition, Tanishka got first place, Mehak Agarwal got second and Rashi Panwar got third place.
College Principal Dr Anil Dhawan congratulated Dr Ankur and Assistant Professor Meenakshi Makloha for successfully organising the event and encouraged all the students to constantly encourage their curiosity towards science and technology. He also said that such events not only enhance knowledge but also inspire young minds to make a career in space-related institutions. The winners were also honoured with certificates and prize money.
