District-Level Inter-College Literary Carnival 2026
The English Literary Society of Mukand Lal National College, Yamuna Nagar, organised the District-Level Inter-College Literary Carnival 2026 under the aegis of Department of English.
The event provided a vibrant platform for students from different colleges to showcase their literary talent, oratory skills, creativity, and appreciation of literature through three competitions: Book Review, Declamation Contest, and Poetry Recitation.
The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various colleges of the district. The Book Review Competition encouraged students to express their understanding and critical appreciation of literary works, while the Declamation Contest provided an opportunity to articulate views on contemporary issues. The Poetry Recitation Competition celebrated poetic expression, originality, and effective presentation.
In the *Book Review Competition*, Vani of Mukand Lal National College, Yamuna Nagar, secured first position, followed by Kanak Priya of the same college in second position. Harsh Kumar, also from Mukand Lal National College, Yamuna Nagar, secured third position.
In the *Declamation Contest*, Amitoj Singh of Government College, Chhachhrauli, bagged first position. Kanak Priya of Mukand Lal National College, Yamuna Nagar, secured second position, while Shree of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamuna Nagar, won third position.
In the *Poetry Recitation Competition*, Vani of Mukand Lal National College, Yamuna Nagar, secured first position. Amitoj Singh of Government College, Chhachhrauli, won second position, while Ravtej Kaur of Guru Nanak Girls College, Yamuna Nagar, secured third position.
The competitions were adjudicated by Dr. Rupender Kumar and Ms. Swati Wadhawan, who evaluated the participants on the basis of their content, presentation, clarity of expression, and overall performance.
The event was organised under the guidance of Prof. Parveen Khurana, Officiating Principal of Mukand Lal National College, Yamuna Nagar. The organising team comprised Dr. Sumita Kanwar, Convener and Head of the Department of English; Sh. Jitender Kumar; Dr. Rahul Singh; and Dr. Pooja Rani. Their collective efforts contributed to the successful conduct of the literary carnival.
The event concluded with appreciation for all the participants and winners. The literary carnival reaffirmed the college’s commitment to promoting literary awareness, critical thinking, effective communication, and creative expression among students. It also provided an enriching opportunity for inter-college interaction and encouraged young learners to explore the power of words and ideas.
