District-level science essay writing competition
A district-level science essay writing competition was held on October 4, 2025, in the auditorium of Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar. The competition was organized by the Haryana State Council for Science, Research, Innovation, and Technology, Panchkula. Students from colleges across the district participated in the competition. Topics for essay writing included "Intellectual Property Rights in Higher Education," "Planet, People, and Policy," "Not Just Profits: The Rise of Self-Reliant Innovation in National Security," and "The Impact of Digital Technologies: The History, Advantages, and Disadvantages of Cloud Storage." Dr. Avinash Singh, Dr. Sarita Bhandari, and Dr. Arvind Jain served as judges. The results of the competition were as follows:
First Place - Madhavi Sharma, Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar
Second Place - Paushaali Mehta, Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar
Third Place - Mehak Agarwal, Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar
Addressing the students, Dr. Anil Dhawan, Acting Principal of the college, highlighted the importance of scientific essay writing competitions in the education system. He said that such competitions develop students’ creativity, analytical abilities, and expressive skills. Such events increase social awareness among youth and contribute to their overall personality development. Dr. Dhawan congratulated the competition coordinators, Dr. Rachna Agarwal and Prof. Manjeet Rani, for the successful organization of the event and said that the success of the competition was a result of the collective commitment and team spirit of the college family. He thanked the organizing committee, jury, and support staff for their dedication, discipline, and excellent management.
On this occasion, Dr. Savita Garg, Dr. Deepmala, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Prof. Asha Rani, Dr. Neeti Daryal, Dr. Mahesh Kumar, Prof. Ajay Kumar, Dr. Nitya Kaushik, Dr. Poonam, Dr. Umang Bareja, Dr. Rameshwar Groch, Prof. Gurmeet Singh, Prof. Meenakshi Makloha, Prof. Ina, Dr. Aastha and Prof. Neha were present along with others.
