District level science quiz and essay writing competitions were organized

District level science quiz and essay writing competitions were organized in the auditorium of Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar on 21 September 2024. These competitions were organized by Haryana State Council of Science, Research Innovation and Technology, Panchkula. In these competitions, 13 teams from seven colleges of the district participated in science quiz and 14 students in essay writing. All the participants performed well. Dr. Avinash Singh, Dr. Sarita Bhandari and Dr. Gulshan Kumar Sethi played the role of jury in the essay writing competition.

The acting principal of the college, Dr. Anil Dhawan, while addressing the students, explained the importance of competitions related to scientific context. Explaining the importance of quiz competition in the education system, he said that such competitions are very important for the overall development of the students. The results of these competitions were as follows-
First place in Quiz Competition was secured by Government College, Chhachhrauli, Second place by M.L.N. College, Yamunanagar, Third place by Guru Nanak Girls College, Yamunanagar and Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar and Fourth place by D.A.V. Girls College, Yamunanagar.
First place in Essay Writing Competition was secured by Guru Nanak Girls College, Yamunanagar, Second place by M.L.N. College, Yamunanagar, Third place by D.A.V. Girls College, Yamunanagar and Fourth place by Government College, Chhachhrauli. Dr Dhawan honoured the winners by giving them prizes and certificates and congratulated the coordinators of the competitions Dr Rachna Agarwal, Dr Mamta Oberoi, Prof Manjit Rani, Dr Ankur and Dr Rameshwar Groch for their work.
Dr Savita Garg, Dr Mahesh Kumar, Dr Rajesh Kumar, Prof Asha, Dr Deepmala, Dr Nitya Kaushik, Dr Poonam, Assistant Prof Meenakshi Makloha and others were present in the programme.
