Orientation Programme organised for Newly Admitted Students at M.L.N. College, Yamuna Nagar

An Orientation Programme for the newly admitted students of B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com. classes was organised at M.L.N. College, Yamuna Nagar, to familiarise students with the academic system, examination pattern and various cells and clubs functioning in the college.

Dr. Rachna Agarwal apprised the students of the National Education Policy (NEP) and explained the examination system and paper schemes. Dr. Amandeep Batra introduced the students to the Women Study Cell and its activities. Dr. Rahul Singh made the students aware of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and encouraged them to participate actively in its activities.

The stage proceedings were conducted by Prof. Parveen Khurana, Dr. Mahesh and        Dr. Pooja Jain. Prof. Parveen Khurana also briefed the students about the Entrepreneurship Development Club (EDC) and emphasised the importance of discipline. He clearly apprised the students about the strict measures against ragging and stressed that the college maintains a zero-tolerance approach towards ragging.

Mrs. Anju Nagpal, Librarian of the college, explained the facilities and services available in the college library and encouraged students to make effective use of library resources. Dr. Mamta Oberoi motivated the students to join the NCC and become responsible NCC cadets. Dr. Bhawna Sethi introduced the students to Rangmanch, while Dr. Dalbir Singh briefed them about various scholarship schemes. Dr. Savita Garg introduced the students to the Red Cross Club and Dr. Pooja Jain apprised them of the activities of the Legal Literacy Cell.

Addressing the students, Dr. Manohar Goyal, Principal of the College, welcomed the newly admitted students and made them aware of the various facilities available on the campus, including sports facilities, library, gymnasium, different cells and clubs and separate common rooms for boys and girls. He encouraged the students to make full use of these facilities for their overall development. He also urged them to maintain discipline, follow the rules and regulations of the college and contribute positively to the academic environment of the institution.

The programme provided the newly admitted students with valuable information about academics, co-curricular opportunities, student support facilities and the overall functioning of the college.
