Second day of the seven-day NSS camp

On the second day of the seven-day NSS camp held at village Damla on the theme “Role of Youth in Developed India: 2047”, various activities were organized to motivate and educate the volunteers.

The day started with yoga and exercise sessions which set a positive tone for the entire day. This was followed by a formal closing of the day’s activities with the NSS song ‘kq:vkr’ which further strengthened the spirit of national integration.

In pre-defined groups, students participated in creative competitions like poster making and slogan writing focused on raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. Through these activities, not only did the volunteers showcase their creative talents but also emphasized the importance of visual communication in health awareness campaigns.

In the afternoon, Dr. Rachna Agarwal, Convener of Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee conducted an informative session on the sensitive issue of sexual harassment. Her address highlighted the need for a safe and respectful environment, highlighting the important role of awareness and proactive measures in protecting the community.

Next, Dr. Umang Bareja, Convener of Red Cross Club, discussed the widespread problem of HIV/AIDS prevention. His session brought to light the importance of adopting preventive measures and spreading accurate information about the disease, which is in line with the overall health and wellness objectives of the camp.

After lunch, a speech competition was held on the topic “Role of Youth in Developed India: 2047”, which provided a platform for the volunteers to express their views for a developed and self-reliant India. Along with this, group discussions were also held on the concept of “Atmanirbhar Bharat”, which encouraged collaborative dialogue on youth empowerment and national progress.

In the evening, the camp organized sports sessions like Kho-Kho followed by a cultural evening in which students showcased their artistic talents. To further reinforce the themes of the day, a rally on HIV/AIDS awareness was also organised, whereby the participants publicly demonstrated their commitment towards social health and safety.

Dr Anil Dhawan, Acting Principal of the college congratulated the volunteers as well as NSS Programme Officers Dr Vakil Singh, Dr Pooja Rani and Dr Rahul Singh for the successful organisation and execution of the day’s activities.
