The 79th Independence Day
The 79th Independence Day celebrations were held with great fervour in the premises of the local Mukand Lal National College. 78 years ago, on the night of 14th and 15th August, India got independence from the British rule, for which thousands and lakhs of patriots sacrificed their all for this country.
First of all, the Principal of the college, Dr. Anil Dhawan, hoisted the flag in the presence of the NCC contingent. He said that today we need self-confidence and boldness for the all-round development of the country. It was on this day that we got independence after innumerable sacrifices, due to which today all of us Indians are breathing in the open air of freedom. Therefore, salutations to all those patriots.
On this occasion, the professors and non-teaching staff of the college were present. NCC and NSS students of the college graced the event and patriotic songs were presented by the music and cultural department. At the end of the event, laddus were distributed to all the members and students present.
