The grand event of the 40th Sports Fair was concluded in the premises of the local Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar. The special guest of the program, Mr. Ashwani Aggarwal inaugurated the sports fair by hoisting the flag. Shri Ashwani Aggarwal, General Secretary Dr. Ramesh Kumar and College Principal Dr. Ritu Kumar saluted the contingents participating in the march past from various schools. It is known that for the last 39 years, Mukand Lal has been organizing this fair on the birthday of Seth Ashok Kumar, Chairman of the National College Managing Committee, with the aim of increasing the spirit of mutual brotherhood, love, harmony and cooperation among the youth.
The fire was lit by the students who have brought glory to the college by visiting state, national and international levels. The first prize in the best march past was given to Mukand Lal Public School, Sarojini Colony, Yamunanagar, the second prize was given to Mukand Lal National C.C. School (NCC), Yamunanagar and the third prize was given to M.L.N.C.C. School, Radaur and the best band award was given to Mukand. Awarded to Lal Public School, Sarojini Colony, Yamunanagar. NCC Cadet Shreya Harjai represented India in Moscow under the Youth Exchange Programme. Cadets Malkit Singh and Shreya Harjai were awarded for participating in the Republic Day parade.
College Chairman Seth Ashok Kumar announced a reward of Rs 11,000 for each team participating in the cultural program. After the march past, the program started with a dance presentation of Mukand history by the students, a presentation on the theme ’Ram Aayenge’ and a mesmerizing presentation of Garba, Yoga and Bhangra. On this occasion, Preeti Bhoj was also organized in which about 6000 people took food.
Students, staff members of Mukand institutions, various schools, colleges of the district and clubs, cells etc. of Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar participated in the march past of the function.
Speaking on this occasion, Principal of the college, Dr. Ritu Kumar, while presenting the report of the achievements of the college in academic, cultural and sports, said that apart from sports, our college has also made an important place in the field of education. In the cultural field the college has received many awards at university and state level. Special congratulations to Sports Department Head Dr. Mahendra Singh, Babita Sood, Vinod and Ankur and their entire team for today’s event.
In this fair, hundreds of players participated in athletics, running, wrestling, karate, weightlifting, tug of war and yoga competitions. Cultural programs were organized to make the program colourful. The forum was conducted by Prof. Praveen Khurana, Dr. Amandeep Batra and Dr. Ankur.
College Management Committee Chairman Seth Ashok Kumar, General Secretary Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Mr. Bharat Aggarwal, Mrs. Shivani, Mrs. Bhavna, Mrs. Megha, Mr. Mudit, Mrs. Richa, Mrs. Sucheta Sagar, Mrs. Shashi Bathla, Mr. SK Garg, Seema Kataria were present in the sports fair. , Mr. Pramod Basal, Dr. RK Garg, Pt. Gyan Prakash, Dr. Ajay Sharma, Mr. Ishwar Aggarwal and principals, professors, employees and distinguished citizens of various institutions were present to encourage the sports participants.
