Two competitions were organized by Sigma-The Mathematical Society

Two competitions were organized by Sigma-The Mathematical Society, a part of local Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar, Mathematical Quiz and Mathematical Dance- ’Se Ola to Hola’. About 70 students enthusiastically participated in these competitions. Dr. Rachna Agarwal and Dr. Mamta Oberoi played the role of jury. The team of Sejal, Swati and Aryan (3rd year B.Sc.) secured first position in the quiz competition. The team of Jaskiran Deep, Sanchit, Basant Singh (B.Sc. 1st year) got the second position and the team of Ankit, Prateek, Aditya (B.Sc. 1st year) got the third position.
In mathematical dance competition, Sarita (B.Sc. third year) got first, Nidhi (B.Sc. first year) got second and Umesh (B.Sc. second year) got third place.
Society President Dr. Savita Garg said that all the students of the club organized the competitions with great enthusiasm. Especially Mukul, Arjun, Ayush, Khushboo, Nikhil played a special role. The acting principal of the college, Dr. Rahul Khanna said that along with education, there is a great need for social and practical development of the students and such competitions help in developing these qualities. He congratulated Dr. Rachna Agrawal, Head of Mathematics Department, Dr. Savita Garg (Convenor), Dr. Deepmala and Prof. Umang Bareja for the successful conduct of both the competitions and appreciated the other members of the society for their work.
